LTC-Slidell Opening
LTC Region 1 Slidell Campus is opening on July 1, 2008. The temporary location of the campus is moving to 56707 Behrmen Street in Slidell.
The Slidell Campus will offer a variety of programs, including Automotive Technology, Pre-Manufacturing, Pre-Apprenticeship, Certified Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy, and Welding.
Delgado and LTC Region 1 Hold 2008 Summer and Fall Advanced Registration
Delgado Community College is holding Advanced Registration for 2008 summer session and fall semester. For summer 2008 classes, continuing, transfer and readmit students may register online at www.dcc.edu and in person March 24 - May 16. New students are able to participate in Summer Advanced Registration March 24 – May 16 by appointment only. For Fall 2008 classes, continuing, transfer and readmit students may register online at www.dcc.edu and in person March 24 – August 8. New students can participate in Fall Advanced Registration March 24 – August 8 by appointment only.
Regular Summer 2008 Registration will be held May 27 - 28 for classes starting on May 29, and regular Fall 2008 Registration will be held August 13 - 16, at all campuses and sites. Following are Delgado Community College locations:

The Louisiana Technical College (LTC) Region 1 is holding Summer Semester 2008 Pre-registration (Advanced Registration) 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 2 – 6 p.m. Tuesdays March 27 – April 25. Culinary Building Donation,
Program Returns to Slidell
Mayor Ben Morris graciously donated space to the Slidell Culinary Arts Program to return the program to the Slidell location. The program is currently in the preliminary stages of planning.
The building is located at 1325 Bayou Road and consists of a 1000-square-foot training center. The center will feature a large, industrial kitchen to train students in Culinary Arts & Occupations.
Summer Institute Hosted by LTC Region 1

PRC Operation Comeback Phase I Completion
The Preservation Resource Center, LTC Region 1 students and Job Corp students were given certificates of completion for the Spring Semester on June 2, 2008 for completing Phase I of the PRC Operation Comeback restoration project. The project is restoring 5204 Burgundy, a historical house in the Holy Cross community.
Students gutted and scraped the exterior of the house to expose the original materials. They then transformed the double into a single-family dwelling, rebuilding the interior framing and restoring the existing floor. The next phase, to begin this summer, will include installing the air condition unit and the electrical wiring.
